1. Agreement and Contract Scope
These Terms and Conditions govern each Rent2Go booking and apply to all drivers named on the reservation.
- Your contract is formed when booking is accepted and payment authorization is completed.
- The contract includes your booking confirmation, these terms, branch instructions, and the applicable fee schedule.
- If your booking includes add-ons (extra driver, child seats, protection products), those become part of the same contract.
- By collecting a vehicle, you confirm all submitted information is accurate and current.
2. Driver Eligibility and Verification
Rent2Go must verify that every driver is permitted and insured to operate the selected vehicle class.
- Drivers must hold a valid licence suitable for the booked vehicle category.
- You must provide required identity, address, and licence evidence at collection when requested.
- Undeclared, suspended, disqualified, or unapproved drivers are not allowed to drive the vehicle.
- Rent2Go may refuse handover where insurer, compliance, or fraud checks are not satisfied.
3. Booking, Payment, and Deposit
Rent2Go uses transparent pricing with clear rental charges and a separate refundable security deposit.
- The rental charge confirms the reservation period and selected booking options.
- A security deposit is pre-authorized or collected at pickup, depending on vehicle class and risk profile.
- You authorize Rent2Go to recover unpaid rental charges, fines, damage, and contractual fees linked to your booking.
- If payment fails or authorization is withdrawn, Rent2Go may suspend or cancel the booking.
4. Collection, Handover, and Vehicle Condition
A documented handover protects both customer and branch from disputes.
- Collection requires matching driver details, valid payment method, and acceptance of final rental documents.
- You should inspect bodywork, wheels, lights, fuel/charge level, and cabin condition before departure.
- Any pre-existing issue should be reported before leaving the branch or designated pickup bay.
- Keys, cards, and access devices remain Rent2Go property and must be returned at end of hire.
5. Permitted and Prohibited Use
Vehicles must be used lawfully, safely, and only for approved purposes.
- Allowed use is personal or business travel consistent with booking details and vehicle specification.
- Prohibited use includes illegal activity, racing, driver training, unauthorized towing, overloading, and off-road misuse.
- Smoking, vaping, and transport that leaves hazardous contamination are not permitted.
- You are responsible for ensuring passengers, cargo, and pets are carried safely and legally.
6. Fuel, Charging, Mileage, and Return Standard
Vehicles must be returned in a reusable condition for the next booking.
- Return fuel or battery level must meet the policy shown in your booking summary.
- Excessive cleaning, odor removal, waste disposal, or specialist valeting costs are chargeable.
- Mileage, low fuel/charge, and other usage-based charges are billed according to your selected rate plan.
- Missing equipment (keys, cards, accessories, safety items) is chargeable at replacement cost plus admin handling.
7. Extensions, Late Return, and No-Show
Hire duration must match your active reservation unless extended by Rent2Go approval.
- If you need extra time, request an extension before the scheduled return time.
- Late returns can trigger additional rental charges and late handling fees.
- Where a late return impacts another customer reservation, additional loss-related charges may apply.
- Failure to collect a vehicle within the allowed window may be treated as a no-show.
8. Damage, Breakdown, Theft, and Accidents
Immediate reporting is required to manage safety, insurance, and recovery correctly.
- Report accidents, theft, police contact, warning lights, or mechanical issues as soon as reasonably possible.
- Do not admit liability on behalf of Rent2Go; provide factual details and cooperate with claims handling.
- Where legally required, notify police and obtain incident references.
- You remain responsible for safeguarding keys and securing the vehicle until instructed otherwise.
9. Insurance, Excess, and Customer Liability
Your booking may include protection products, but liability rules still apply.
- Insurance/protection cover is subject to policy terms, exclusions, and excess limits.
- Damage caused by prohibited use, negligence, key loss, wrong fuel, or policy breach may be fully chargeable.
- Rent2Go may recover direct repair cost, related operational losses, and administrative handling where contractually allowed.
- Optional excess reduction products reduce exposure but do not remove all liability types.
10. Fines, Tolls, and Regulatory Charges
The renter is responsible for legal and regulatory costs incurred during the hire period.
- Parking penalties, speeding notices, tolls, congestion charges, and clean-air charges are the renter's responsibility.
- Rent2Go may transfer your details to relevant authorities or pay/administrate notices as permitted by law.
- Administrative processing charges may be added for each notice handled.
- You must settle all such charges promptly when invoiced.
11. Cancellation, Refunds, and Booking Changes
Refunds and amendments depend on notice period, vehicle class, and booking status.
- Cancellation and amendment windows are shown during checkout and booking confirmation.
- Late cancellation or no-show fees may apply where branch resources and availability were reserved for your booking.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within standard processing windows.
- Promotional or special-rate bookings can carry separate amendment/refund rules.
12. Data, Telematics, Complaints, and Governing Law
Rent2Go processes customer and vehicle data to deliver rental services safely and lawfully.
- Vehicle telemetry and operational data may be used for fleet security, billing validation, and incident resolution.
- Personal data is handled under applicable UK data-protection law and Rent2Go privacy controls.
- Complaints can be raised through customer support and are handled under documented service timelines.
- Unless otherwise required by mandatory law, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
